Had been thinking about Jim recently and just find out of his passing. I'm not even sure how we met but had to be at a concert or something to do with music, 30 or so years ago. He was more like a big brother. We could go years without talking but because he always had the same phone number, I could reach out to him at anytime for any reason.
I used to tease him about his small album collection. LOL He definitely knew and appreciated the music of our lives. And all those years of asking, he wouldn't come up off of that Nova!!
Jim was a genuine guy. Gone way too soon. I will miss being able to pick up the phone, punching in 333-4019, and hearing his voice.
Rest in ☮️.

I am so so so sorry..I just this second found out what happened. I thought it odd that he didn't contact me for my birthday at the end of August...Jim and I met in London in 1991 while on line at a Bruce Springsteen concert, and we have been friends ever since. We even met in Philadelphia a few years ago for some Bruce shows. My deepest condolences to his mother and sister. Sincerely, Linda Kibak

I just found this out today and am in complete shock. Jim was going to go to with us to Bogalusa the end of September. He had a ticket to Houston and we were going to pick him up and drive to Louisiana to see JJ Grey among others. We met Jim at the Tampa Bay Blues Fest a number of years ago and kept in touch and met up with him at other blues fests as well. I was so looking forward to seeing Jim, since we have not seen him in a few years. He will be missed.

Dear Marilyn and Connie:
Please accept my deepest sympathies for the recent loss of Jim. I still remember the day that you moved into the house two spaces south of ours on E. 19st S. I also remember playing football, basketball and baseball with Jim while we lived in that neighborhood. He was a good man, whose presence will be missed.
I regret the slightly belated condolence, but my family has been on vacation with only limited internet access.
With my deepest sympathy and affectionate regards,

We met Jim on his travels to the UK in 2012, when he was following one of his favourite bands JJ Grey and Mofro. We literally bumped into each other before a concert in Manchester England and again in Bristol England. We corresponded a couple of times following the gigs and we had planned to help jim with his accomodation on his next trip, which he hoped would be in November this year. We have met many friends through music, but Jim's presence and caring nature was head and shoulders above anyone else we have aver coe into contact with. Our heartfelt best wishes and condolences go out to his family and friends. He will never, ever, be forgotten. RIP Jim, we are proud to call you our friend.

I had the unforgettable pleasure of sharing our love for JJ Grey & Mofro, always upfront, at many shows. His enthusiasm for life was contagious and his musical knowledge knew no boundaries. Jim was such a groove. He loved his music and would support live music venues often. I met him through the South Skunk Blues Society, The Harvest Band & JJ Express. His feedback as a music fan and participant as an avid listener was so appreciated.
This is a very large loss to our community.
He was a wonderful man. We would often greet one another to and from our work places as he would walk and I ride a bicycle.
Hi-ya! always positive and compassionate.
Bless his soul.

I am so shocked and saddened by this. I live in Tampa and am one of the many JJ Grey & Mofro fans who Jim touched with his presence. Jim's love for the band took him to other countries much less other states. He made instant friends wherever he went. I went to many-a-concerts with Jim. My gosh did he love music. And he always had a smile. It's been an honor to call you a friend.

Mrs.Jagau and Connie, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't believe it. Stunned, we just had supper together with our usual group just last week. He was talking about his most recent trips and upcoming ones, excited, willing to share all about them as usual. He loaned me three CD's of one of his favorite groups to burn for myself. I was anxious to hear them but now I won't be able to tell him how much I also liked J.J. Grey and Mofro. He was a good friend to all that knew him and he will be missed. Sincerely, John Guthrie
