Obituary of Lucas R. Bolton

Lucas R. Bolton, 30, passed away Wednesday morning, August 13, 2014, at his home in Newton. Funeral memorial services for Lucas will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Colfax Christian Church. The Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday with a coffee and fellowship time at the church, following the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Lucas’ family, in his name. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery. Lucas, the son of Frances “Fran” I. (Pieart) Bolton and Gary E. Bolton, was born August 13, 1984, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was a graduate of the Colfax Senior High. He was employed in customer service at the Grinnell Wal-Mart Supercenter. On January 8, 2010, Lucas was united in marriage with Shelly R. Steingrabe in Newton. He devoted his life to his family and friends, and was a member of the Colfax Christian Church. He enjoyed music, the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. Lucas was preceded in death by a sister Traci Sears and a brother Wesley Botts.. Those left to honor Lucas’ memory include his wife Shelly of Newton; his mother Fran Bolton of Colfax; his father Gary Bolton of Newton; a sister Diane (Dave) Shepley of Colfax; his grandmother Charlotte Pieart; his grandfather George Sears; two nephews: Michael and Zachery; and his many other family and friends.
