Merrilee and I shared a tremendous love of basketball, competition and sports in junior high and high school. She was a gifted athlete! She invited me to the tennis court to help her work out and to try and convince me to go out for the tennis team. Merrilee was very kind and quick to smile. I was full of tears when I learned she had passed. To her family...Merrilee was loved by many in the Class of 1971. She is resting peacefully now in heaven with God. Prayers for all of you...
I have been working with Merilee at Pyramid here in Newton...she was always kind, had a smile for you, very neatly dressed, and easy to visit with....she will be missed...RIP Merilee...
My thoughts and prayers go out to Merrilee's family. I will always remember her bright eyes and smile, back when we attended Newton Senior High together. Rest in Peace Merrilee.
I remember a smile and kind words from Merrilee in school. I still can see her swinging her tennis racket and listening to people say how good she could play. This is how I will always remember her. To the family of Merrilee, I offered my sympathy for your loss.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Merrilee's family during this time of sorrow. I have many great memories from high school tennis with Merrilee. I remember what a hard working, dedicated player she was. I admired her work ethic to be the best she could be in tennis. She was always kind. May she rest in peace. Sincerly,
Kathy Hermsen
