Obituary of Norman Dwight Rohrdanz

Norman Dwight Rohrdanz Grinnell Funeral service for Dwight Rohrdan of Killduff, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church near Sully. Family and friends are invited to a visitation time; 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, at the Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton. In LIEU of flowers: memorials are being designated to St. Andrew's Church or to the Charity of your choice. Norman Dwight Rohrdanz, 82, the son of Edward and Ada Pearl (Schnug) Rohrdanz, was born December 15, 1926, near Killduff, Iowa. A lifelong resident of the Killduff area, he graduated from the Newton Senior High, Class of 1944. Dwight had served his country during the Korean Conflict, with the United States Air force. Dwight still farmed the family farm. He devoted his life to his family and friends, and was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church near Sully. He was active in his church, enjoying nature, the out of doors, his garden and his dog. Dwight died on Tuesday morning, Mach 24, 2009 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy, Virginia; and his brother Marvin Rohrdanz. Those left to honor Dwight's memory include his brother Carroll Rohrdanz of rural Killduff; several nephews and his cousins; and his many great friends and neighbors.
