Obituary of Mark Clayton Emmack

Mark Clayton Emmack, the son of Donovan and Ella Juanita Anthony Emmack, was born December 20, 1928, in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from the Newton Senior High with the class of 1947. On October 19, 1952 Mark was united in marriage with Phyllis Schrader at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Mark worked as a banking loan officer for twenty years, primarily for Jasper County Savings Bank in Newton. He retired from the Jasper County Assessor's Office in 1994. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed his time on the golf course. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Midtown Coffee Club, the Elks Lodge and had served on the boards of the Easter Seals and the Jasper County American Cancer Society. Death came to Mark on Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center. He was 79 years old. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Beverly. Those left to honor Mark's memory include his wife, Phyllis of Newton; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Elaine Emmack of Tempe, Arizona; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Allfree of Story City, Iowa and Charles Schrader of Newton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
