Betty Lou Pittman, age 82, of Newton died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Skiff Medical Center, Newton. Mrs. Pittman was born December 16, 1924 at Prairie City, IA the daughter of the late Richard and the late Freda Edna (Reuvers) Synhorst. She married Frederick M.Pittman Novermber 23, 1946 at Olathe, Kansas. She was employed by as a Homemaker. Mrs. Pittman was a member of 1st UMC; Girls Camp Fire Board; Siff Medical Center Auxiliary She is survived by her husband: Frederick M.Pittman, two daughters: Kay & Darrell Cross of Des Moines, IA, Luanne Nichols of Prairie City, IA and two sons: Frederick L. & Bonnie Pittman of Newton, IA, Rick & Kathy Pittman of Newton, IA Sister of one sister: June & Roy Taylor of Peoria, AZ and one brother: John & Margaret Synhorst of Newton, IA Sister-in-law, Margaret Chase of Kansas City, MO; Brother-in-law, Johnny & Ruby Pittman of Archie, MO Calling hours will be Wednesday from Visitation with the family will be from 6 - 8pm at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 at First United Methodist Church, 210 N. 2nd Avenue E., Newton with Rev. Gary Marzolf officiating. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery, Newton on Thursday at 3:00 pm. Memorials may be made to 1st UMC; Jasper County Hiscorical Society
