Henry Ford Powell, age 78, of 5060 - W. 48th Street N., Newton died Monday, November 26, 2007 at Monarch Wing At Skiff Medical Center, Newton.
Mr. Powell was born June 26, 1929 at Grayson County, TX the son of the late John Henry and the late Osha Belle (Crocket) Powell. He married Margaret PaulineRoberts August 30, 1985 at Newton, Iowa.
He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 during Korean war .
He retired from Maytag Company as a Truck Driver in 1987.
Mr. Powell was a member of UAW Local #997
He is survived by his wife: Margaret Pauline(Roberts) Powell
Step Daughter, Becky & Bud Michales of Pleasantville, IA; Step Daughter, Rita & Don Hayes of Pleasantville, IA
Calling hours will be Thursday from prior to services at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton with Rev. Merle Smith, Chaplain officiating.
Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery, Newton on Friday at 11:00 am.
Memorials may be made to Newton Community School Bus Barn; Hospice of Jasper County
