Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth McCormick

Toodie was a wonderful wife and mother; an excellent motivator and disciplinarian. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and crocheting. She loved caring for her friends, game shows, shopping, and spending time with her five sons, three daughters, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sisters and Fairways III friends. Toodie was a member of The Lehigh Red Hats Society, The Lady Elks of Lehigh and a parishioner at St Raphael's Catholic Church, Lehigh. She was a member and past President of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society in Newton, Iowa and was Treasurer of Fairways III Condo Association, Lehigh Acres, Florida. Toodie was preceded in death by her parents, Maria DeChico and Oreste Barbieri; her husband, Robert Harmon "Cappy" McCormick; a daughter, Melody Ann McCormick Dahlem; her brothers, Nello, Eris John (Edy), Mario, William D. "Jake" and Edward Oreste Barbieri and her sister, Alice Cecilia Barbieri Parsons. A loving mother, aunt and dear friend to many, she is survived by her five sons, Terry A. "Aloysius" (Romy) McCormick of West Des Moines, Iowa, Mark M. (Patricia) McCormick of Delray Beach, Florida, Robert H.M. (Pamela) McCormick of Newton, Iowa, Steven Parker (Toni) McCormick of Newton, Iowa, Christopher Michael (Stephanie) McCormick of O'Fallon, Missouri; her two daughters, Peggy Elaine (Brewer) Wilson of Chesterfield, Missouri, Debra Kay (George) Stephenson of Dubuque, Iowa; her 17 Grandchildren, Karri Ann Tangeman, Robert Joseph McCormick, Matthew Scott McCormick, Benjamin John McCormick, Jessica Leigh Wilson, Tabetha Nicole McCormick, Natalie Margaret McCormick, Michael Harmon McCormick, Brandi Ann Harris, Ashley Marie McCormick, Parker Steven McCormick, Emily Elizabeth Stephenson, Sophie Marie Stephenson, McCormick Thomas Stephenson, Megan Marie Dahlem, Madeline Christine Dahlem, John Christopher McCormick, Payton Melody McCormick; her 9 great grandchildren, Jacob Robert Tangeman, Alysa Kate Tangeman, Marshall Dalton McCormick, Mason Cooper McCormick, Anna Bridget McCormick, Ella Eileen McCormick, Mary Catherine McCormick, John Micheal McCormick, Carter Scott McCormick; her two sisters, Corrine Mary Cole of Des Moines, Iowa, Jean Regina Markey of Des Moines, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
