Obituary of Gladys Rosalie Ohnemus

Gladys Rosalie Ohnemys Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21st at 2:00pm at Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Gladys Rosalie Ohnemus, the daughter of Paul and Mayme Lewin Meador, was born June 4, 1921, in Fifield, IA. She had attended local schools in Runnells, IA. Gladys had lived in Fifield, IA, Runnells, IA, Mitchelville, IA Meltcher, IA, Texas and Newton, IA. On May 22, 1937, Gladys was united in marriage with Lee Miller in Des Moines, Iowa. Lee would precede her in death. On June 29, 1967, Gladys married Melvin Ohnemus in Des Moines, Iowa. She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Gladys loved her family. She was an avid reader and always enjoyed crocheting, going to flea markets and watching NFL football and the NBA basketball, San Antonio Spurs. Gladys died on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. She was 86 years old. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Lee Miller, her 2nd husband; Melvin Ohnemus; two sons, Paul Miller and Larry Miller; a step-daughter, Marcia Reese; a step-son, Mickey Ohnemus; a granddaughter, Tami Rattray; two brothers, L.D. Meador and Wayne Meador; two sisters, Mary Conklin and Dorothy Miller. Those left to honor Gladys memory include her son, Robert and Janice Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; her daughter-in-law, Sally Miller of San Antonio, Texas; her step-son, Mark Ohnemus of Carlisle, Iowa; her step-daughter, Melissa and Denny Reeves of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her 27 grandchildren; her 30 great grandchildren; her many great-great grandchildren; her sister, Nadine and Jack Losee of Indianola, Iowa and her brother, Keith and Nora Meador of Arizona.
