Obituary of Ann Frank Rothschild - Bond

Newton The Reverend Doctor Ann Frank Rothschild-Bond went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday morning, April 15, 2008 in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. Formerly of the Glencoe and Highland Park, Illinois areas. Ann is survived by her loving beloved husband, The Reverend Doctor Carl Wilford Rothschild-Bond; and sons, Lawrence Robert Levin, Jr. and Andrew (Olga) Rothschild Levin. Ann, the daughter of Melville Nelson Rothschild Jr. and Mary Frank, was born February 17, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended school at Francis W. Parker 1945-49, Farm School 1950, Glencoe Central 1951-55, and graduated from New Trier Senior High School. She attended the University of Arizona 1959-61, received her Bachelor of Arts from Barat College in 1988, Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1991, and her Doctor of Missiology from the E. Stanly Jones School of Missions and World Evangelism at Asbury Theological Seminary in 2002. On May 28, 1993, Ann was united in marriage to Carl Wilford Bond in Glencoe, Illinois. Ann ministered to adults with mental and physical disabilities for over 20 years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton where she team taught the Growing in Faith class, was an assistant at Buddy Camp at Wesley Woods, a Stephen Minister, and a member of Lydia Circle. In addition to being a pastor, Ann was the current president of Volunteers in Progress at Progress Industries and served on the board for the Centre for Arts and Artists. She was also an artist, writer, and teacher. Ann enjoyed her lovely home and its beautiful landscaping, gardening, raising herbs, and gourmet cooking. She is left to be remembered by her many friends and loving church family. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and her son Melville Rothschild Levin. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Pence-Reese Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Anns name to: the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure (5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste 250, Dallas, TX 75244) or the American Cancer Society.
