Obituary of Audrey Ann Mitchell

Audrey Ann Mitchell, the daughter of Franklin Benjamin and Mary Lucille (Stevens) Mason, was born November 20, 1938 in Malcom, Iowa. Audrey graduated from Marshalltown High School. She had lived in Garwin, Ames, Iron River, WI, Marshalltown, Monroe and Newton. Audrey loved her family. She worked as a bookkeeper and as a resort restaurant owner. Audrey enjoyed watching sports and sci-fi, working puzzles and playing cards. Audrey died at her home Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at her home in Newton. She was 74 years old. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Harold Mason and John Michael Mason. Those left to honor Audrey's memory include her son, Brad (Linda) Mitchell of Newton; her daughters, Linda Bacon of Newton and Pam (Kevin) Jungst of Iron River, WI; her five grandchildren; her three brothers, Donald (Ruth) Mason of Dubois, WY, Roger Mason of Marshalltown, IA, Robert (Cleo) Mason of Coronado, CA and her sister, Marjorie (Jay) Grismore of Albion, IA. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 30th at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Allerton Cemetery in Allerton, Iowa. Memorials may be designated in Audrey's name to the Humane Society of the United States and may be left at the funeral home.
