Obituary of Betty Lou Allen

Betty Lou Allen Newton Funeral services for Betty are pending at the Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who have been entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery. In LIEU of flowers: Memorials in Betty's name are being designated; to Dollars for Scholars; or to the Charity of your choice. Betty Lou Allen, 83, the daughter of Harry and Icy (Moser) Pyle, was born March 24, 1926 in State Center, Iowa. She had attended rural country school. Betty, a longtime resident of the Newton, Iowa area, was self employed as an Accountant, at Allen Accounting. She also was an accountant for McKlveen Lumber Company in Newton. She devoted her life to her family and friends, and was a past member of the local A.B.W.A., where she held several offices; an active member of the Central Christian Church in Mesa, Arizona, as a choir member, active with the Community Theater in Newton, and a past President of the Toastmistress Club. She enjoyed and taught Line Dancing, and had won several awards in National Ballroom competition with Fred Astaire. In 1993, Betty moved to Mesa, AZ. Betty died on Monday morning, November 23, 2009 in Mesa. She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to honor Betty's memory include her special friends: Mike Eckhardt of State Center, Iowa, Lori and Russell Leix of Newton and Laurel Hunter, also of Newton; and many other good friends.
