Obituary of Beverly E. Bryan

Beverly "Bev" Bryan , 70, of Newton, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at Park Centre Health Care, under the care of Wesley Life Hospice, after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years Ken; a brother Curt Ferneau; and a sister Glenda Beaver. Funeral services for Bev will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the Pence - Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery, rural Newton. Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, at funeral home. Memorials are being designated in Bev's name to the Good Samaritan Fund at Park Centre, and may be left at the funeral home. Bev, the daughter of Glen T. and Anna Marie (Letch) Ferneau, was born August 3, 1942, in Grinnell. She attended Grinnell Senior High. Bev was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Bryan. She devoted her life to her family and friends, leaving a loving legacy to her large extended family and network of supportive friends. An avid seamstress and crafter, Bev enjoyed spending time with her family. A highlight for her was the family's annual fishing trip to Arcadia Lodge in Minnesota. Bev was employed for many years prior to her retirement as a bookkeeper at Newton Furniture. She enjoyed her experience living at Newton Village, where she served for two years as president of the resident organization. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of Park Center Rehabilitation, DaVita Dialysis Care and her team of doctors, especially the nephrologists who provided quality care while she was on kidney dialysis treatment for the past six years. Those left to honor Bev's memory include her daughter Cori (Gary) Latcham of Newton; her son Clint (Sally) Bryan of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren: Philip Bryan, Tyler Latcham, Abby Bryan, and Anna Latcham; her two sisters: Naomi DeHart of Kellogg and Sharon Wassom of Bowling Green, KY; and her brother David (Rita) Ferneau of Malcom. . .
