Obituary of Debra DeAnn Petersen

Debra DeAnn Petersen, the daughter of Ralph and Alverta (Miller) Dickson, was born April 4, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1975. Deb had worked under the Extended Work Service Program at Progress Industries. She enjoyed reading Sunday School material; collecting bibles; shopping; car rides; taking classes at Progress Industries; watching T.V.; spending time with her cat, "Lucky"; and owning her own home. She was a thoughtful person who would often send cards of encouragement to others. Deb died on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was 56 years old. Deb was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to honor Deb's memory include her extended family and her close friends. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 15th at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and may be left at the funeral home.
