Obituary of Lucille Christy

Lucille Christy, the daughter of Floyd Melvin and Dora Ann (Forson) Williams, was born April 21, 1927 in Sullivan County, Missouri. She graduated in 1945 in Humphreys, MO. On September 4, 1947, Lucille was united in marriage with LeRoy Christy in Trenton, MO. Lucille worked as a silk screener at the Vernon Company, retiring after 33 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, traveling with her family, cooking and having the family over for the holidays. Lucille died Friday, June 8, 2012 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 85 years old. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LeRoy in 1992; her great grandson, Bo Meyer; her sisters, Imogene, Maxine, Evelyn, Vivian and Gladys; and her brothers, Glen, Benny and Emment. Those left to honor Lucille's memory include her daughter, Beverly (Leon) Wharff of Newton; her son, Mel Christy of Sullivan County, MO; and her granddaughter, Deena (Ray) Robson. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends in the Tribute Center following the services. Memorials may be designated in Lucille's name to Skiff Hospice and left at the funeral home.
