Obituary of Sam Clark

Robert A. "Sam" Clark, the son of Don Max and Opal B. (Berhow) Clark, was born August 26, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from the Logan-Magnolia High School and received a BA in accounting finance from the Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff. On April 1, 1978 Sam was united in marriage with Karen Seyb in Sioux City, Iowa. Sam ran Clark Ready Mix and worked for Door Doctor for many years. He also managed the family farm in Leon, Iowa. Sam was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge. He was an outdoorsman enjoying golf, tennis, riding his bike, working at the farm, fixing things, ping pong, I.S.U. Athletics and anything his daughters did. Sam went home to glory on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his home in Newton. He was 61 years old. Sam was preceded in death by his father. Those left to honor Sam's memory include his wife, Karen of Newton; his daughters, Abby Clark (fianc, Kyle Wood) and Rachel Clark; his mother, Opal Clark of Urbandale; his siblings, Donna (Larry) O'Neill, Mark Clark, Steve (Jessie) Clark; and his sister-in-law, Deb Clark. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Luke United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be designated to the St. Luke United Methodist Church or the Newton Christian School.
