Obituary of Helen Rebecca Kinart

Helen Rebecca Kinart, 90, formerly of Newton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, in Matthews, NC, at the home of her daughter's. A funeral service for Helen will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Pence - Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home, Friday, April 20, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.. Memorials are being designated in Helen's name to St. Luke United Methodist Church, and may be left at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Helen, the daughter of S. R. Beukema and Irma Floy (Eaton) Beukema, was born July 27, 1921, in Newton. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High, Class of 1939. A longtime resident of the Newton area, she taught rural school for several years, was a secretary/bookkeeper for Cardinal trucking, worked at Younkers, the Maytag Dairy, and retired from Goodwill Industries. On June 25, 1940, Helen was united in marriage with David Longnecker in Newton. She had devoted her life to her family and friends, and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and Rock Creek Ikettes. Her husband David, would precede her in death. Helen was a kind and warm hearted lady, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. On April 5, 1944, she was united in marriage with William A. Kinart in Pasadena, CA. She enjoyed traveling with her family and music. In 2007, she moved to Charlotte, NC to be with her daughter, Janice. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: David and then William on Oct. 31, 2000; step-son Larry Kinart; and six sisters: Ruth, Esther, June, Martha Marie, Wanda, and Elise. Those left to honor Helen's memory include her daughters: Janice Brown of in Charlotte, NC and Judy Lukenbill of Ankeny; step daughter Karolyn Rawlins of San Antonio, TX; her four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; her sisters: Wilma Sleeuwenhok and Eunice Stubbe; and her many friends.
