Obituary of Arnold Edward White

Arnold Edward White, the son of Arnold and Pauline Roberta (Brown) White, was born December 8, 1948, in Newton, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Prairie City-Monroe High School with the class of 1967. Following high school, Ed graduated from DMACC with a degree in marketing. Ed spent his entire working career providing for the public as a lineman for Alliant Energy. In 1978, Ed was united in marriage with his eternal love Lorraine in Newton. Ed enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes, classic cars, his dogs and especially watching his grandchildren grow. Ed was a member of the Newton Izaak Walton League, and the Rebel Cruizers.

Ed passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Newton Village. He was surrounded by his beloved family and close friends. He was 75 years old. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine, and three brothers.

Those left to honor Ed's memory include his son Josh White (Joslyn DeGoey) of Newton, grandchildren: Maxwell, Ryker, Owen; brother and sister in-law Doug and Evelyn Hodges; niece and nephew Sharla and Tim O'halloran; and great neighbors/friends Jerry and Natalie Balek.

No public services are planned. Memorials may be designated to Mid Iowa Boxer Rescue and may be left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home.
