I was fortunate to cross paths with John & Wilma when I helped them sell their house in 2013. They had many good years together living at Park Centre and it was always good to see them. When John moved to the Dementia unit, he was such a joy to take care of and be around. He would always tell me "oh, that top is so pretty', was kind to all, loved to walk and swing his arms to his "bum-bum-bum' music he would make up and sing, swinging his arms, saying "let's dance". He made up for years not dancing, with the staff in GV. Everybody loved John, his innocence and his joys brought so much joy to staff and residents. I will miss bring him his "liquor" (goody goody he would say). With sadness- we had to let him go. Knowing he is in the arms of his creator, knowing his strong faith, even until the end...there, I am sure, was a well deserved party in heaven. Prayers for strength and peace to family & friends. RIP John. You will be missed. See you on the other side. XO

This was a wonderful memory of John when we were invited to join him and Wilma on a trip to Holland in 2011. My husband and John got along famously and talked at length about many different things. These two pictures were actually taken when we went over the border into Germany for a day. He was a good man dedicated to the Lord. I imagine it's quite possible that he and Bruce are going over a few things together in heaven now.

Uncle John visited our family Chilliwack farm in 1968ish and shovelled snow in the orchard into a huge pile. We enjoyed digging a cave into it:). A 14 year age difference did not seem like a lot.
When his son, Martin, and Uncle John visited my home in 1980 he asked my advice on laundering towels. I never did ask if it was helpful advice :)
Every phone chat I had with him included what he learned or taught in a recent Bible Study. Uncle John freely shared his faith and trust in God, he knew Jesus as a Savior, Lord and friend.
