Obituary of Brandon Lee Hodge

Please share a memory of Brandon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Brandon Lee Hodge, born on January 9, 1993, in Des Moines, Iowa, was a force of nature in every sense. A graduate of Newton Senior High School in 2011, Brandon continued his educational journey at the University of Northern Iowa and Kirkwood College.

His passion for life shone brightly in his role as a manager at Zombie Burger in Des Moines, where his zest for creativity and humor made him beloved by both colleagues and customers alike. Brandon's interests were as varied as they were vibrant; he found joy in nature's beauty, cherished his time with his dogs, and was an avid gamer and culinary enthusiast. His wanderlust led him to the sunny shores of Florida and the majestic peaks of Colorado, each journey a testament to his adventurous spirit.

Affectionately known as Uncle Don to his niece and nephew, Brandon embraced family with an open heart. His infectious sense of humor lit up every room he entered, leaving laughter in his wake.

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the age of 31, Brandon left this world at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reggie Leland and Julie Kay Hodge; grandparents Jim and Carol Hodge, great grandmothers, Grace Dickey, and Alice Kool; and his uncle, Danny Hodge.

Brandon's memory will forever be cherished by his sister, Kaci (Davion) Hurst, and their children, Nolynn and August; his girlfriend, Cheyenne Leigh Levesque; grandparents Paul and Sharon Kool; uncles and aunts, Jim and Angie Hodge, Teri McMillan, and Brian Kool; numerous cousins; and a host of friends who were fortunate enough to share in his life's journey.

In honoring Brandon's memory, let us celebrate the vibrant soul he was and the indelible mark he left on all our hearts.

Memorials may be designated in Brandon's name.

Please make checks payable to Kaci Hurst.
