Obituary of Cheryl Ann Sutherland
Cheryl Ann Sutherland, 66, of Pella, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. Born on May 10th, 1957, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Clarence Junior Weldon and Glenda Helen Bates, Cheryl lived a life full of love and dedication.
She graduated from Twin Cedars High School in Bussey, Iowa, with the class of 1976, and on April 24th, 1976, she married Richard Sutherland in Knoxville, Iowa. Cheryl and Richard, along with their children, embarked on a remarkable journey, traveling the country singing southern gospel music as the band Redeemed and Rejoicing from 1992 to 2012, visiting every state except Alaska and Hawaii, touching lives wherever they went.
Cheryl found joy in simple pleasures, often spending time crafting and baking with her sister, Theresa, or immersing herself in the pages of a good book. She was a nurturing presence, running an in-home daycare for many years and serving as a homeschool teacher to her grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Cheryl wore many hats, including a brief stint as a telemarketer, and employment at Pella Corp. Her faith was an integral part of her life, as she was a member of Open Bible Church in Pella for many years.
Cheryl will be remembered fondly for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
