My memories of Lenny reboot to our grade school years. (I moved into his neighborhood in the 3rd grade.)
Playing baseball summer mornings. Swimming pool in the summer afternoons.
Shooting hoops in his driveway. Collecting baseball cards. Biking to the neighborhood grocery store to buy more card packs when we scrapped together a few cents.
Collecting old coins.
Hanging out and enjoying the innocence of our youth.
My condolences to his family. You were blessed to have him in your lives.
Peace be with you.

To Barb, Carly, and Ryan---
Words do not express what Lenny meant to the Class of '66. He was an inspiration, a true friend, and he shared his smile with all around him! When Lenny came to Holdrege in September '23 to see all of us, we know that was a lasting memory, his parting gift. His phone calls and text messages meant so much to me. The world has lost a true gentleman. My heart is heavy knowing your loss. I send you support, prayers, sympathy, and love.
*Here's a photo of Lenny with "Adam and the Smashers" band at my 16th Birthday party! L to R is Dennis Westergen, Jim McDonald, Bob Johnston, and LENNY! He was a gift to my life.

It will be hard to think Lenny won't be in Florida
as baseball spring training begins. We traded baseball cards when we were ages 5 to 12, and even in our 40s. My mistake was trading him my
good Yankees cards. I remember when I was teaching class one morning and 2 guys dressed
in hunting attire came into the school. It was Lenny and Ryan, a bit haggard from hunting elk in
New Mexico. He & Barb certainly traveled to many places in the world, but Holdrege, Kearney and Harlan County were always places of comfort near their original homes. Lenny will be
sorely missed. Thanks for the Yuengling !

The words written in this obituary are perfect but how do you describe a man so full of love and goodness, selflessness and encouragement. He was one very very special guy. Our “family” will feel empty without him. Lenny your legacy is one of a life well lived and a soul well loved. We are so grateful that the battle is over and the reward is rich.
