Denise was a great friend and coworker. We met in Ashland,Virginia at work. We worked at Walmart and always stayed in touch. We would ride together from Mechanicsville to Ashland Virginia to work. We had great conversations. Even though, we left Walmart, we always stayed in touch. She will be greatly missed. MY deepest sympathy to Denise, Doug and Dillion. I guess God needed another Angel in Heaven. Anissa

My deepest condolences to Dennis, Doug, Dillon, and all of Denise’s family. I pray for God to comfort you. Denise was my childhood bestie who lived two houses away from me. The memories remind me of how blessed we were to grow up together. We were typical kids who played outdoors, listened and danced to music, played board games, had many sleepovers, laughed and giggled at silly stuff, and spent time with each other’s families. Her sister, Carolyn, took us to our first concert together to see our pop idol… we were so cool! For many years we rode the church bus to Sunday School and sat together in church. When Denise got her driver license I rode shotgun for two years until I got my driver license and took on some of the driving. We confided in each other and were there for each other through typical teenage growing pains. We sowed our wild oats together and grew into adults. Into our twenties we drifted apart but never really lost touch. Social media allowed us to connect again on a more frequent basis and I loved seeing pictures of her family and how happy Denise was. We last saw each other about 20 years ago but the friendship always remained special. Back in the day we obviously didn’t have cell phone cameras to capture every memory so the few pictures I have (thanks to my mom) are priceless to me. One picture particular is now extra wonderful because it was taken Christmas of 1981 and includes our other bestie Stacy. Rest in peace my friend and I will see you again!

I can't believe you are gone. I never got to say goodbye. You were my very first and best friend when I moved to Jacksonville, FL. You let me stay with you a bit until I got my own place. You were even my maid of honor when I married Tim. You tried to keep in touch throughout the years and through all your moves and always had the sweetest comments on my Facebook posts and pictures of my kids and grandkids. Denise, you were the epitome of what a true friend is, and I will miss you so much until we meet again. Love you! Sue Lowery
