Obituary of Kathee Ann Shaffer

Kathee Ann Shaffer, daughter of Charles B. "Bud" and Norma (Barrett) Davis, graced the world with her presence on December 10, 1957, in Eldora, Iowa. She died on November 17, 2023, in Newton, Iowa, at the age of 65. Kathee's memory is one that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Kathee's journey through life led her to graduate from Newton Senior High School with the class of 1976, marking the beginning of a path filled with love, family, and a passion for creativity. On April 13, 2001, she united in marriage with Mark Shaffer in Dallas Center, Iowa, embarking on a journey of companionship that would span over two decades. Professionally, Kathee dedicated her time and energy to Progress Industries in Newton, leaving a positive impact on those she worked with. Her warm spirit and dedication were evident in every task she undertook. Kathee had an innate sense of style and a love for decorating that brought beauty to the world around her. Her creative touch extended to her appreciation for fashion, reflecting a vibrant and expressive personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and, sadly, a son, Dustin Doran, whose memory will be held dear. Kathee is survived by her loving husband, Mark Shaffer, and her sons, Robbie Doran and Aaron Illingworth. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her six grandchildren. Her memory is also honored by her sisters, Kim (Barry) Roper and Jacki (Brad) Tharp. In honoring Kathee's memory, no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in her name may be left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, a tribute to a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved.
