Obituary of Darrell Keith Boothe

Darrell Keith Boothe, 79, the son of Loyd Marvin and Wilma (Johnson) Boothe, was born May 30, 1944, in Chariton, Iowa.  He was a graduate of the Chariton Senior High School, Class of 1962. 

   Darrell died Saturday morning, September 23, 2023, at his home in Newton. 

   A celebration of life for Darrell will take place at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton, with a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home.  Burial in the Dunreath Cemetery, rural Monroe, IA. 

   In lieu of flowers, memorials for Darrell can be directed to Cheryl Boothe, Immanuel Baptist and left in the care of Pence-Reese Funeral Home, 310 N 2^nd Ave E, Box 576, Newton, IA 50208, or to a charity of your choosing.

   February 12, 1966, Darrell was united in marriage to Cheryl Lee Piper in Knoxville, Iowa.  He worked as a Carpenter Contractor, and was self employed as a Locksmith, for many years.  He and Cheryl were members of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton.

   Darrell enjoyed sharing his home life with his family, and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and reading. 

   He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister in infancy. 

   Those left to honor the memory of Darrell include his wife Cheryl of Newton; his son Darrell Keith (DJ) Boothe, Jr.; his four grandchildren: Eric (Lisa) Boothe, Jonathon (Brett) Boothe, Jacob Boothe and Emily Boothe; a sister Marcia (Ron) Harger; and his many extended family and good friends.
