Obituary of Karen Sue Andrew

Karen Sue (Sell) Andrew, 71, of Newton, the daughter of Leonard Henry and Ruth Irene (Whitsel) Sell, was born October 28, 1951, in Newton. She attended Newton Community Schools; she then went on to complete a certified nursing assistant course.

   A celebration of life for Karen will take place from 9am until 11am Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Pence Tribute Center in Newton.

   She was a CNA and later a Residential Aide at Progress Industries.

   Karen attended the Newton FourSquare Church, and enjoyed sharing time with family and friends, playing card games and finishing new puzzles every week. She was a foodie at heart and loved it when family members would bring her one of her favorite foods.

   Karen died on Sunday evening, July 23, 2023, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister in infancy, Dianna Lynn Sell and a grandson, Isaiah Eilander.

   Those left to honor the memory of Karen include her son Earl(Cynthia) Cunningham Jr of Newton; daughters: Angela(Greg) Lange of Davenport, IA and Trisha Wilson of Marshalltown; her grandchildren: Katelyn Cunningham, Carrie Cunningham, Bradley Cunningham, Adam Cunningham, Kelsie Lange, Trenton Eilander and Kylie Eilander; many great-grandchildren; her brothers: Michael(Wanda) Sell and Steve(Roz) Sell; a sister Ella(Dan) Richardson; and her many good neighbors and friends.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials for Karen can be directed to Jr Cunningham and left in the care of Pence-Reese Funeral Home, 310 N 2^nd Ave E, Box 576, Newton, IA 50208, or to a charity of your choosing.
