Obituary of Mary Beth (Johnson) Roskilly
Mary Beth (Johnson) Roskilly, 61, was born September 23, 1961, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, daughter of Raymond Carl Robert and Hellen JoAnn (Heldt) Johnson. She graduated from the Ft. Dodge High School, Class of 1980. She had received her B.S. Degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University and her MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.
Mary passed from this life on Thursday morning, May 11, 2023, at her home in rural Newton.
On August 6, 1983, Mary was united in marriage with Rod Roskilly at Ellsworth United Methodist Church in Ft. Dodge. She was employed by the Maytag Company, for 22 years, and Aviva for five years and Pioneer for seven. She had retired in May 2019, as a Manager-Project Manager in Information Technology. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed reading, cards, puzzles and activities with family and friends. Including watching her kids sporting events, traveling, hiking, quilting and being at their lake home in the Ozarks. She had a passion for life and connecting with any and EVERY person she met and was a member of the Newton First Presbyterian Church.
Mary is survived by her husband Rod; her four sons and two granddaughters: Scott Roskilly and granddaughter Sofie, Kyle Roskilly, Jason (Stephanie) Roskilly and granddaughter Collins, and Zach Roskilly (Brooke Meyer); her brother Jim Johnson; and her many good neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. at the Fore Seasons Sport Bar and Grill (6232-County Hwy S74 South, Newton, IA) (With a Catered BBQ ). Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling the arrangements. A Private burial will be in the Slagel Country Cemetery, rural Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of Pella or to MercyOne Newton Oncology Dept. checks made out to Rod, in honor of Mary.
