Obituary of Dorothy A. Kleinendorst
Dorothy Ann (Schultz) Kleinendorst, the daughter of Melvin and Frances (Castorff) Schultz was born May 17, 1933, in Galesburg, Iowa. Dorothy’s mom died during childbirth and her dad then married Hazel Kling. Dorothy graduated from Sully High School. After high school, Dorothy began working at Newton Manufacturing. On September 3, 1966, Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard “Bob” Kleinendorst at St. Andrews Lutheran Church near Sully, Iowa. Dorothy loved gardening, bowling and following sports teams, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. She continued working at Newton Manufacturing until she was 55 years of age, she then retired to devote her time to her family and to spoil her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a very good cook and loved making big dinners at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Dorothy was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church and the Newton Manufacturing Retirement Club.
Dorothy died at the age of 89 years on Monday, October 24, 2022, in the Newton Healthcare Center, Newton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, baby sister Doris, her husband Bob Kleinendorst, and a great-granddaughter Madahlynn Polo.
A visitation with the family will at 12:00p.m., Noon, with the celebration of life at 2:00p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials are being designated to the American Cancer Society or the St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
