Obituary of Shad Lee Averhoff

Shad Lee Averhoff, the son of Larry Lee Averhoff and Katheleen Ann Plum, was born April 28, 1971, in Marshalltown, Iowa.  On August 2, 1997, Shad was united in marriage with Lisa Ann Goff in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Shad worked as a heavy equipment maintenance worker.  He enjoyed fishing, tinkering and fixing things, spending time with family and the boys and taking care of people.

Shad died on Friday, June 24, 2022, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center.  He was 51 years old.  Shad was preceded in death by his father; his son, Sean; and his grandmother, Neva Plum.

Those left to honor Shad’s memory include his wife, Lisa; his sons,Andrew (Alisha) Vasquez, Kevin Vasquez, Jacob Averhoff, Nathan Averhoff; his mother, Katheleen Plum; his grandchildren, Alexandria Vasquez and Amiyah Vasquez; his brother, Matthew (Elizabeth) Averhoff, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Jasper County Church of Christ in Newton.  Memorials may be designated in Shad’s name (Please make checks payable to Lisa Averhoff).
