Obituary of Sean D. Vasquez

Sean Douglas Vasquez Sean Douglas Vasquez, 29, died on Saturday morning at the Iowa City University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Sean Douglas Vasquez, was born July 26, 1992, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Shad and Lisa (Goff) Averhoff. He graduated from high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Community College in Albuquerque. Sean moved from Albuquerque to Kenosha, Wisconsin, then Denver, Colorado and Newton, Iowa. Sean loved his family and enjoyed mentoring children. He was an avid fisherman and a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. Sean is survived by his parents Shad and Lisa Averhoff of Newton, Iowa, brothers Andrew (Alisha) Vasquez and their daughter Alexandria of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kevin Vasquez and his son Hunter of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jacob Averhoff of Denver, Colorado and Nathan Averhoff of Longmont, Colorado, sisters April Vazquez and Angela Vazquez of Las Cruces, New Mexico, grandparents Charlotte and Richard Goff of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kathy Plum of Newton, Iowa, Larry and Evelyn Averhoff of Edgewood, New Mexico, aunts and uncles Traci and Bryon Alexander of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Matt and Elizabeth Averhoff, several cousins and extended family. Services and burial will take place at a later date in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Memorials in Sean's name (payable to Lisa Averhoff) may be left at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, Iowa.
