Obituary of William Dale Van Maanen

William Dale Van Maanen Dale passed away Wednesday morning, January 13, 2021, at the Taylor House in Des Moines. A Private Graveside Services will be Monday, January 25, 2021, at the Vandalia Cemetery. The Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, and as an expression of sympathy, memorials may be designated to Dale's family. William Dale Van Maanen, 81, the son of William and Kathryn (White) Van Maanen, was born September 13, 1939, in Mitchellville, Iowa. He was a high school graduate. On September 4, 1960, Dale was united in marriage with Dorothy M. Daugherty in Prairie City. Dale had devoted his life to Dorothy and had farmed all his life. He was a longtime member of the Vandalia Church of Christ. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy on February 12, 2020 and a sister Ladonna Harrison. Those left to honor Dale's memory include his sister-in-law Melda Ingle; his nieces, nephews and cousins; and his many good neighbors and friends.
