Obituary of Donald Paul Dietz

Donald P. Dietz Donald "Don", formerly of Des Moines, passed away Wednesday morning, December 19, 2018, at his home in Newton, under the care of Mercy Hospice. A time of remembrance will be held a later date, Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Don's Family. Donald Paul Dietz, 65, the son of Paul J. and Stella M. (Schoenherr) Dietz, was born August 6, 1953, in Des Moines. Don was employed as a Security Guard for Wells Fargo and later at Prairie Meadows in Des Moines. He enjoyed his grandchildren, the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening, and hiking. Don is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Anthony Shepard of Newton; his grandchildren: Brooklyn, Shawn and Beckett; a brother and sister-in-law William "Bill" and Ale Dietz of Granger; and many friends.
