Obituary of Margaret Jean Jensen

Margaret Jean Jensen, the daughter of Earl and Vanita (Gilliland) Subra, was born December 21, 1928 in Bagley, Iowa.  She graduated from Bagley High School with the class of 1946.

On December 21, 1947, Jean was united in marriage with Charles W. Jensen in Bagley, Iowa.  Jean had a clerical job at the Iowa State House and for the Hugo Schulz Law Office.  She then went on to work in customer service for Newton Manufacturing.  Jean was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newton.  She loved her family.  Jean enjoyed listening to music, dancing, watching movies and shopping.  She loved to laugh and always was caring for animals and feeding her cardinals.

Jean died on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.  She was 88 years old. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chuck, on November 10, 2006; her sister, Evelyn Baldus and a brother in infancy.

Those left to honor Jean’s memory include her daughter, Andrea G. Jensen and her son-in-law, Robert Young of Ann Arbor, Michigan; her daughter Christine A. Jensen of Des Moines, Iowa; and her granddaughter, Margaret Elizabeth Young and her fiancé, Jerome Cattin Ortola.
