Obituary of Shawn Edwin Ridenour

Shawn E. Ridenour, the son of Lynn Thomas and Rebecca Rose (Kilker) Ridenour, was born August 8, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa.  He attended Newton schools and Marshalltown Community College.  Shawn had worked as a truck driver for Troen Trucking.  He enjoyed working on electronics and in past years he enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

Shawn died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.  He was 48 years old.  Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Those left to honor Shawn’s memory include his sons, Justin Tysseling and Chaz Ridenour; his daughter, Alexius Ridenour; his three grandchildren, Damian, Levi and Carter; his mother, Rebecca Porter; his step father, Eugene Porter; his father and step-mother, Lynn and Cheryl Ridenour; his sisters, Shannon Pierson and Amber Porter;  his half-sister, Faith Fletcher; a niece, Alexandria DuFour and nephews, Ryan Pierson and Kainan DuFour.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral home in Newton.  The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Shawn’s name to assist with funeral expenses.
