Noi Cavan, of Newton, formerly of Canada and Mason City, IA, died Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines..
Noi Cavan, 59, was born May 1, 1957, in Vientiane, Laos. He had attended school in Laos. On March 22, 1979, Noi was united in marriage with Naly Hoang in Thailand. Having lived in Canada, was a longtime resident of Mason City and then Des Moines, he moved to the Newton area in 2014. He was a hard worker, and was employed and retired from Snap-On Tool, in maintenance. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and singing.
Noi is survived by his wife Naly; his daughters: Thavisinh Cavan and Kenora Cavan, son-in-law Jermaine Williams, all of Winnipeg, Canada; his four grandchildren: Alex Le, Emily Brown, Sabrina Brown and Jhaidyn Williams; brothers: Toune Baccam of Pella and Thoung Baccam of Des Moines; sister-in-law Daovy Lovan of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law: Phaly Hoang of Mason City, Mark Hoang of Des Moines, Pat Hoang of Mason City, Lowe Hoang of Grimes and Baley Hoang of Minnesota; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Pang Cavan and La Baccam, his son Ackhasenh Cavan on May 1, 2016; and his father-in-law Koung Hoang.
Visitation with the family at the Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, will be 1:00p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2017, until the remembrance and celebration of life service at 2p.m. Please join with the family at Noi's home, 1116-1st Ave. W. in Newton, for lunch and visiting following the cremation service at {121-NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, IA}.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Noi's family.
