I often said, only half jokingly, that George must have known everybody in Jasper County. Growing up south of Kellogg we would frequently see his truck go by our farm and someone was sure to say "there goes George." Little did we know then that decades later he would become mom's soul mate and a beloved member of our family. I have fond memories of sitting around mom's kitchen table and listening to George tell (and sometimes retell) stories about people he had come in contact with during his many years of service to the public. George had a heart for people that will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I know that his passing has left a big hole in the heart of the Parsons family. We are eternally grateful that we had the privilege of knowing him on a close personal basis for as long as we did.
