Obituary of Loretta Jean Lamb

Loretta J. Lamb Loretta Lamb of Des Moines, passed from this life on Monday morning, August 8, 2016, at the Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Loretta Jean Lamb, 78, was born September 10, 1937, in West Des Moines. The daughter of Clarence Edward and Ada Mary (Cone) Shutt. Loretta was a very hard working, single, mother of seven children. She devoted her life to her family, and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was member of the Eagles, and where she was employed as bartender. There she met the love of her life Stan Gullion, of whom she would spend many years with. Loretta is survived by her sons: William "Bill" Shiffer and Donald "Donny" (Karla) Shiffer; daughters: Vickie Davis and Kathy Shiffer; her brother Bill Shutt; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her children: Deborah, Barbara and Ronnie; her siblings: Shirley and Butch; and three grandchildren: Daniel, Chris and Donny A time of remembrance and the funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the Faith Independent Assembly of God Church, @ 6001-SW 14th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Loretta's name or a charity of your choosing.
