Obituary of Elsie B. Graham

Elsie Bernice Graham, 84, was born April 18, 1932, in Grants Pass, Oregon. The youngest of five children, of Steve Smith and Mae (Cutlip) Smith. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School. On March 13, 1965, Elsie was united in marriage with Robert Charles Graham. In 1966, she and Robert moved to Newton. Where Elsie was employed by Hamilton's Upholstery for 29 years, until the business closed in 1995. Prior to retiring in 2007, Elsie worked at Boyd's Satellite. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandma. In addition, she was a caring person to further extended family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was a longtime active member of the Newton VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Newton Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous. Elsie passed from this life on Monday afternoon, July 18, 2016, at Newton Health Care. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert C. Graham. Survivors include her sons: Steve Longacre and Marlin Graham; her sister Lelah Myers; her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her many friends
