Obituary of Sharon J. Johnson

Sharon J. Johnson, 67, the daughter of Carl William and Mary Bottenfield, was born November 2, 1942 in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from the Minnetonka High School in Excelsior, Minnesota, Class of 1960. She later received graduated from Minneapolis Vocation Tech. School-L.P.N. School in 1961 at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. A longtime resident of the Newton area, Sharon was employed as a nurse in Home Health Care. She had devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and family, and enjoyed spending time with them. Sharon died Saturday evening, May 22, 2010, in the Monarch Wing at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl; her step-mother, Mary Bottenfield; and a son, David R. Johnson. Memorial Service for Sharon, will be 12 noon, June 12, 2010, at Agnes Patterson Park, 3004 - N. 4th Ave. E., in Newton. Memorials in Sharon's name can be left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, who have been entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Sharon's memory include her sons: Daniel R. Johnson and Dustin R. Johnson, both of Newton; her daughters: Deena A. John-Purvis of Newton and Dian R. Gross of Swan, Iowa; her six grandchildren; her brother David Carl Bottenfield of Minnesota; a step-sister Becky Carlson-Anderson of Minneapolis; and her many friends. Sharon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
