Lois J. Chapman, passed away Monday evening, December 21, 2015, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Visitation with the family will be 10:30a.m. until 12 Noon, Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
A Time of Remembrances and the Internment for Lois, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials have been designated in Lois' name or Jasper County Animal Rescue League.
Lois June Chapman, 82, the daughter of Russell and Rosaletta (Schultz) Patterson, was born November 5, 1933, near Colfax, IA, and she attended the Colfax Schools.
On November 24, 1951, Lois was united in marriage with Albert Lee "Red" Chapman in Knoxville, IA. To this union five children were born. Lois was employed by Rock Communications and at the Maytag Dairy Farm. She devoted her life to her family and friends, and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her church, playing cards, feeding and watching her birds and squirrels, and had quilted for many years.
Those left to honor Lois' memory include her daughters: Lucinda "Cindy" (Paul) Workman of Kellogg and Lisa Coonts; her sons: Rick (Sheri) Chapman of Kellogg and Tim (Dana) Chapman of Milan, MO; her nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; her sisters and brother: Jane Patterson, Doris Patterson and Donald Patterson; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband "Red" on June 27, 1987; a son David in infancy; a granddaughter Mindy; a sister Julia; and three brothers: Raymond, Ralph and Kenneth Patterson.
