Darrell Neal, formerly of the Mingo, Iowa, area, passed away Monday morning, October 19, 2015, at his home in Fennimore, Wisconsin, following a long illness.
Local services and a time of Remembrances will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Mingo United Methodist Church, with a visitation being held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning. Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery, near Ira. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Darrell G. Neal
Darrell G. Neal, 73, the son of Louis C. and Alta Cordelia (Inglis) Neal, was born February 27, 1942, in Colfax. He graduated from Mingo Community High school, Class of 1960, where he was an outstanding athlete.
On June 10, 1962, Darrell was united in marriage with Constance "Connie" Weston. Darrell pursued a career in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering and held Associate Degrees in both fields. He worked in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio. He became an active member in the United Methodist Church wherever he lived. He enjoyed playing league fast-pitch softball and basketball for many years and coached Little League and Babe Ruth teams in Iowa and Wisconsin. He was an avid golfer and took up inline skating when he lived in Ohio. Darrell also enjoyed travelling, family camping, hunting, and watching professional basketball.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Constance "Connie", sons David (Julie) Neal of Dodgeville, WI and Douglas (Karen) Neal of Hilbert, WI; grandchildren Emily (Brandon) Schuhmacher of Hartford, WI, Louis Neal of River Falls, WI, Nicole (Nick) Evers of Wrightstown, WI and Chelsey Neal of Appleton, WI; brother Robert (Cathy) Neal of Newton, IA, and sister Barbara (Robert) Leonard of Mingo, IA; brother-in-law John (Emma) Weston of Mingo, IA, and sister-in-law Patricia Penn of Adel, IA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother James Neal, and son Donald. Darrell will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A prayer service was held at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday evening, Oct. 22, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore, with visitation from 6:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday evening, in Fennimore.
