Obituary of Cora Jean Andersen

Cora Jean, was called home to her God on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter.
Funeral services for Cora Jean will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in Cora Jean’s name are being designated. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.
Cora Eugene “Jean” Andersen, 89, the daughter of Ralph and Myrtle (Hutchinson) Faircloth, was born November 4, 1925, near Laurel, with twin sister Lillian Maxine. She attended rural country school and was a high school graduate. Cora Jean was employed at the factory in Kellogg prior to meeting the love of her life.
On June 1, 1949, Cora Jean was united in marriage with Henry Emmanuel Andersen at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kellogg. Together they raised three children on a farm outside of Kellogg. She devoted her life to her family, and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and later Our Savior Lutheran Church in Newton. She taught Sunday and bible School. Cora Jean was the driving force behind the faith of her children and grandchildren. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Cora Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry on January 21, 1997; her twin sister Lillian Maxine; and a grandson Dustin Crook.
Those left to honor Cora Jean’s memory include her sons and daughter: Duane Andersen of Tucson, AZ, Diane & Fred Giesman of Kellogg and Mark & Cathy Andersen of Newton; and her many grandchildren , great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many friends. A special thank you to the Baxter Health Care Center for years of loving care.
