Helen was enormously kind. I met her perhaps two times at most as a distant family member, but I'm grateful for the at least one time we spoke. She gave me a simple pair of simple square earrings with an "H" engraved on each. I have such a vague memory, but I always put the earrings in with a feeling of warmth and kindness that I know she left behind.
