Obituary of Susan L. Elam

Susan Louise Elam, the daughter of James Edward and Linda Sue (Cavitt) Koon, was born April 26, 1966 in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from the Newton Senior High School, with the class of 1985. On November 11, 2011, Susan was united in marriage with Harold Elam. Susan worked as a C.N.A. for many years, working at both Newton Healthcare Center and Progress Industries. Susan died on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Newton Healthcare Center. She was 57 years old. B Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents; Margaret and Lowell Koon and Susan and William Cavitt; her parents, James and Linda Koon; and her sister Robin Hanawalt. Those left to honor Susan's memory include her husband, Harold Elam; her twins, James L. Koon and Daniele Daniels; her five grandkids, Rumor, Roulette, Razi, Zelda and Leonardo; her brother, Jon (Melissa) Koon; her three nephews and a great nieces and great nephew. No official services are planned. Memorials may be designated in Susan's name (Please make checks payable to Jon Koon) and may be left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home.
