Obituary of Phyllis Marguerite Emmack

Phyllis Marguerite Emmack, 91, the daughter of Thomas T.A. Schrader and Allie Morgan, was born December 27, 1932, , in Newton, Iowa.  She attended and graduated from the Newton, Iowa, Senior High School, Class of 1950.  

   On October 19, 1952, Phyllis was united in marriage to Mark Clayton Emmack, at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. 

   Phyllis enjoyed sharing her home life with Mark for 56 years and loved time with her family.  She was a homemaker and was also employed as a Secretary/Bookkeeper by Maytag.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton.

  Phyllis died on Sunday morning, March 31, 2024, in Des Moines.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mark in 2008 and a brother Charles Schrader.   

   A visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Newton, prior to the celebration of life services at 11:00 a.m.  Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, is in charge of the arrangements. The burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. 

   Those left to honor Phyllis’ memory include her son Jeff (Elaine) Emmack of Tempe, AZ; her grandsons: Derek and Ryan Yee; her great-grand daughter Kaylen; her nieces, nephews, cousins; and her many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Phyllis’ family or a charity of your choosing.
