Obituary of Judith Ellen Halblom

Judith Ellen (Reimer) Halblom, 69, passed away Tuesday morning, March 15, 2011, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Judith was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services are planned for a later date. Pence~Reese Funeral Home of Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Judith's name are being designated to the Hospice of Jasper County. Judith Halblom, the daughter of Fred J. and Agusta (Taylor) Reimer, was born April 22, 1941 in Newton, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Grinnell Senior High. On November 15, 1958, Judith was united in marriage with Ron Halblom in Orion, Illinois. To this union a son and daughter were born, James and Joyce. She devoted her life to her husband, children and family. Judith's love for nature and gardening were well evident by all who knew her. She and Ron were longtime residents of the Grinnell area, and were members of the Grinnell Church of Christ. Those left to honor Judith's memory include her husband, Ron of Grinnell; her son, James A. Halblom of Grinnell; her daughter, Joyce Halblom of Grinnell; and her many friends.
