Melvin Mendoza Bustillo, the son of Reynaldo Mendoza and Juana Elia Bustillo, was born September 16, 1975 in Progreso LLoro, Honduras. He attended Glendale High School in Glendale, California. Melvin had lived in California and Missouri before moving to Iowa where he worked for Graphic Packaging International. He enjoyed watching soccer and was an avid Real Madrid CF soccer club fan.
Melvin died on Friday, November 7, 2025, at his home in Newton. He was 50 years old. Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Reynaldo Mendoza.
Those left to honor Melvin's memory include his mother, Juana Elia Bustillo; his daughter, Jessica Sosa; his siblings, Carlos Valladares, Karen Mendoza, Alex Mendoza and Carlos Mendoza.
