Obituary of Renee' Marie Bragg

Renee’ Marie Bragg, 53, of Newton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1971, in Newton, the daughter of Steven Floyd Parsons and Phyllis Ann Schrader (Parsons).

Renee’ was a proud graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1991. She went on to pursue her passion for cooking and worked as a talented chef.

In her free time, Renee’ enjoyed cross-stitching, skating, playing softball, and traveling. She was always up for a game of Monopoly Go and brought joy and laughter wherever she went. A true animal lover, she adored her animals, Charlie and Creeper, though she never quite warmed up to birds.

Renee’s greatest pride was her family. She is lovingly survived by her parents, Steven and Phyllis; her daughters, Ashlie Jeffries (John Poppe), Breanna Bragg (Jeffrey Lee), and Samatha Bragg (Anna-Marie Houghton); her grandchildren, Taryn Jeffries, Aubree Jeffries, Brantley Lee, Riley Poppe, Rachael Poppe, and Sarah Poppe; her sisters, Tammie (Chad) Jansen and Stephanie Parsons; her beloved dogs, Charlie and Creeper; niece Katie Jansen; nephew Brad Jansen; her great nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Helen Parsons and Howard and Wilma Schrader; and her soulmate, Trevor Darr.

Renee will be remembered for her big heart, her sense of humor, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.

A funeral service for Renee will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3^rd, 2025, at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home prior to services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
