Joseph G. Lane, 51, passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2020, at his home. A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be at a later date. The Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, are entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Rachel Barton or Joseph's family.
Burial will be in the Veteran's Section at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.
Joseph, the son of Jimmie Lane, was born June 4, 1969, in Shreveport, LA. He was a graduate of the Mansfield, LA, Senior High. Joseph had served his country as a US Marine.
On June 11, 2005, Joseph was united in marriage with Rachel Barton in Altoona.
He was a Supervisor of adult mentally challenged at Behavioral Technologies. He had devoted his life to his family, enjoyed going to the Cowboy Church in Walford, IA, and fantasy football. He was a huge Lakers and Saints fan; his strength was his faith. In the outreach to feeding and clothing the homeless, Hope Matters, with a passion for those with special needs.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Rachel Barton; daughters: LaQuon Lane and Israel Lane; his sons: Isaiah Dickey, Joseph G. "JoJo" Lane Jr., Jawaun Lane and Zion Dickey; his mother Jimmie Lane; his sister Raven Lane; his brothers: Clint Lane and Wilbert |(Poo) Lane; and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert and Gertrude "Muh" Lane, who helped raise him.
