Jan took her golf very seriously. I did not. Jan and I would go every week to play golf in a league in Florida. I had told her that I was on my high school golf team, not that I was any good, and it had been many years since I had golfed. Anyway, Jan was playing one week with another foursome and I hit a ball that hooked into the next fairway and landed on their green just as Jan approached. She couldn't see who had hit it. I heard her say "that HAS to be Conni's ball"! Then on the way home, she was driving and without even taking her eyes off the road, she said, "I know you said you were on your high school team, but I don't believe it"! Jan was hysterical in a very dry way. We loved her dearly, appreciated her intelligence, her giving heart and yes, could that lady ever cook! She looked after our house while we were snowbirding and checked our mailbox for errant deliveries. You could count on Jan, she was a solid friend. She was a very private person, but the part of her that she shared with us, we adored. She has left a very large hole in our lives and we will miss her very much. Conni and Pudg Doughan
